Video pitch: Digital Thoreau

Digital Thoreau, which is looking for collaborators for data entry, peer review, and general consulting for their effort to create a TEI-encoded text of Walden enriched by scholarly annotations, links, images, and social tools, is the first project to make use of our the new "video pitch" field on DHCommons project profiles. With photos of the original manuscripts and printed editions, snippets of TEI, and examples of the comparison and annotation that will be possible when the project is complete, this is a great example of how to make a project profile more dynamic with a video pitch. The soothing nature sound effects, evocative of a peaceful afternoon at Walden Pond (where perhaps you've brought your laptop to do some TEI markup), are a particularly charming touch. Check out the video below, or on the Digital Thoreau project page.

Congratulations to Paul Schacht for getting the video pitch feature off to a great start! Feeling inspired by his example? Upload a video pitch for your project and we'll include it in next month's video blog post.
