Repetoire International de la Literature Musicale (UK operations)
The Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale (RILM) was established in 1966 under the joint sponsorship of the International Musicological Society and International Association of Music Libraries. It is a continually updated bibliography of writings on music - including books, journal articles, congress reports and dissertations - based at the RILM International Center in New York. The fully searchable database currently has over 500,000 records from 151 countries, and each record includes full publication details and an abstract. It is available online (through content providers) and updated monthly. Our coverage and progress so far: Monographs: music books from the major UK publishers have been brought up-to-date to the end of 2006; Journals: the coverage of all major UK journals is currently being checked and updated to the end of 2006; Dissertations: citations of all UK dissertations from the period 1967 to 2006 have been entered onto the RILM database, abstracts from individual authors are actively sought; Coverage of all UK publications during 2007 is in progress; RILM-UK is establishing contacts with key UK publishers in order to collect author abstracts from collections of edited essays.
