I am available to assist with data modelling and database development using Heurist (http://HeuristNetwork.org), a flexible Open Source data management service/software adaptable to a wide range of Digital Humanities applications. We already collaborate across a variety of DH projects in history, archaeology, art, religion, politics, media studies and more, and provide customisation services as well as initial no-cost advice and database setup.

HEURIST is a flexible Open Source data management system which allows any confident researcher or data manager to design, create, manage, analyse and publish richly-structured database(s) within hours, through a simple web interface, without need of programmers or consultants. It is aimed at a broad range of Humanities data, characterised by rich text, multimedia, relationships, categorisation, uncertain data, spatial and temporal information, and the need to work collaboratively while maintaining access control. It allows incremental changes in database structure - existing data are not affected - allowing projects to start small and simple and evolve as the research develops.

PARADISEC

PARADISEC (the Pacific And Regional Archive for Digital Sources in Endangered Cultures) offers a facility for digital conservation and access for endangered materials from the Pacific region, defined broadly to include Oceania and East and Southeast Asia. Our research group has developed models to ensure that the archive can provide access to interested communities, and conforms with emerging international standards for digital archiving. We have established a framework for accessioning, cataloguing and digitising audio, text and visual material, and preserving digital copies.
